The internet is a really cool place. Well it has some cool parts, most of it is slop. Those are places I use to find sick websites!
- lobste.rs: its mostly about tech article/news but theres some neat stuff! Its like hacker news but every submission isn't a new vibecoded startup. Also it has tags so you know what you're about to read.
- bubbles.town: its also a link aggregator with users upvoting posts ("good posts bubble up") but instead of being user submitted, they're automatically added via rss feeds. Its decent but I feel like posts stay too long on the default feed. Good way to find good posts though1
- bearblog discover: I don't use bearblog (I prefer making my own solutions :3) but a lot of great awesome bloggers are on there! Sometimes the trending view is a bit boring so you can check out the new posts.
- wiby.me: its a small search engine, but it has a "surprise me" button which sends you to a random website! The websites are usually someones personal page made in 2003 or something cool like that. Quite fun!
- webrings: I honestly don't browse those enough, but its a cool way to find awesome sites! Just go around the ring :)
- buttonwalls: go on the buttonwall of a website you like and click on all the pretty buttons. Repeat until its 3am.
Browsing the smallweb is so fun! I really love finding someone's website that they filled with what they love and designed in their style ! I feel like it could be cool to organize a "web browsing event" or something where you just surf cool websites with other people! And maybe make a megalist of Sick Websites™.
